Sidmouth Folk Week

For fifty two years people have been flocking to East devon to wallow in a week of folk song, dance and other performances. On its fiftieth anniversary there were fears it would die, but the commitment and enthusiasm of the local people kept it alive, and indeed it is now flourishing. The festival takes over the town and part of its joy is that apart from the headliners and the organised events there is so much created by the people for the people that it truly is a folk festival. This is just a glimpse of some of that activity.

Time Walk

Exeter City Council often comes up with intriguing ideas. This is one of them. A weekend of re-enactment groups gathered in a park in central Exeter celebrating and exploring over 2000 years of Exeter history. From the Romans to the present day. In twenty minutes you can travel from 1 AD to 2000 AD in the space of half a mile.
